And I hate it when people say, “oh, you’re so lucky you’re not taking that class” or “oh, I wish I was taking your class rather than the class I’m taking now” or “oh, I wish I had your major, mines is so hard.”

UGH PET PEEVE. seriously, just stop. I don’t want to hear about how hard your life is academically compared to mine, I don’t want to hear you basically telling me that I have it easy, because guess what, every college student struggles, no matter what major. and yes, I understand that you do have to take challenging courses, but don’t condescend my major or other people’s majors just to make yourself feel better. it’s just not cool.

just because I don’t talk about my grades or constantly talk about how much I’m studying or constantly complain about how hard my class is doesn’t mean I don’t care, because I do, just as much as others. I just don’t care for how some people will compare themselves to me based on my grades and study habits. I just hate it when people think they’re so much smarter and better than me when they don’t even know me. I’ll stick to my study habits, you stick to yours. Nobody’s method is better or worse than someone else’s, just do what you think you should do to do your best. ugh

it’s not feminism if you treat women equally and with the same respect as everyone else deserves, it’s called being a decent human being.

People need to stop calling every woman who stands up for herself a feminist. It’s called respecting themselves and respecting other humans, no matter what gender, race, or sexuality. Like seriously, why put a label on people who are just trying to live life peacefully and lovingly towards themselves and others? Is it so rare that people actually have to point it out with a term that segregates them from just “normal people”? And that’s another thing: I’m not ashamed of being called a feminist or anything, but when I say something that defends women, why does it automatically have to be followed by someone pointing their finger at me and saying, “You’re such a feminist.” The negative connotation in that is annoying. And no, I do not classify myself as a feminist because feminists are educated in that sense; they actually know what’s happening in women’s rights, whereas I don’t really understand politics or clearly understand the history behind women’s rights. But I do know what I believe in. I do know my values and stick to them. And if I know something isn’t right, I will stand up for it (if I’m brave enough). Does that make me something special? Because it shouldn’t. Because this is how it should be like normally in society.

And of course we all joke about men being this and women being that, and yes, it’s funny at times, but there are always limits because society is so messed up that people have gone so far as to push past those limits. It’s not cool for men to disrespect women, and it’s not cool for women to disrespect men. And it’s sad because it’s so hard for people to understand that nowadays.
